The Little King is a novel about love, written in 1922 by Turkish author Reshat Nuri Güntekin.
The novel tells the story of a young girl named Feride. Having lost her mother in childhood, she is sent by her military father to the French boarding school Notre Dame de Sion.
When, several years later, news arrives of her father's death, Feride is left in the care of her aunt Besime. She spends all her vacations and weekends at her aunt's house. With her mischievous and restless nature, the girl is nicknamed Korolek.
